Ultrawave, Cardiff-based manufacturer of ultrasonic cleaning baths for surgical instruments, added a SteriTouch® antimicrobial powder to the polyethylene casing of the new Hygea 2 model. The fine particles of the powder allow for even mixing during the rotational moulding process, producing excellent antimicrobial efficacy.

Incorporating SteriTouch® into the Hygea 2 reduced MRSA levels by 99.93% during testing in an independent laboratory, together with protection against black mould and other bacteria such as E.Coli and Salmonella, increasing the value of the product and safety levels for both operators and patients.
